It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we mourn the passing of a remarkable leader, our dear friend, and the Chair of the Board of the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver. Her untimely departure has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
She was a strong advocate for the work of the NJ Redevelopment Authority and fought tirelessly to ensure our place and impact in NJ. Lieutenant Governor Oliver’s dedication and passion for community development were evident in every aspect of her service to the people of New Jersey. As the Chair of our Board, she played an instrumental role in advancing our mission to revitalize and transform urban communities throughout the state. Her strategic vision and unwavering commitment to social and economic progress have left an indelible mark on the landscape of redevelopment in New Jersey.
Beyond her professional achievements, the Lt. Governor was a cherished friend, mentor, and role model whose warmth, kindness, and genuine concern for others touched the lives of countless individuals. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life made her an exceptional leader and a beacon of hope for many. She walked with tremendous GRACE!
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family (especially her mother), friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her incredible legacy.
